Elon Musk is a South African-born American entrepreneur, investor,
and engineer who is best known for his work in the fields of electric vehicles,
space exploration, and sustainable energy. He was born on June 28, 1971, in
Pretoria, South Africa.
Musk was drawn to entrepreneurship from a young age and started
his first company, Zip2, in 1995, which provided online business directories
and maps for newspapers. The company was sold in 1999 for almost $300 million.
In 2002, Musk founded SpaceX with the goal of making space travel
more affordable and accessible. The company has successfully launched rockets,
including the Falcon Heavy rocket, and has made reusable rockets a reality.
In addition to SpaceX, Musk is also the CEO of Tesla, an electric
car company that he founded in 2003. Musk has been instrumental in the design
and development of Tesla's electric cars, including the Model S, Model X, and
Model 3.
Musk is also the CEO of The Boring Company, which aims to reduce
traffic congestion by building underground transportation tunnels, and
